At the beginning of December, batch two was transferred from RAS 2 to RAS 3 and vaccinated in recent days. As with the previous round, the vaccination process was handled by NORVACC. Even in land-based aquaculture, vaccination remains an important preventive tool to safeguard fish health, ensure efficient operations, and support sustainable practices. Continued Progress in Viðlagafjara
The first batch of smolts, now in the Post-Smolt house at Viðlagafjara, is adapting exceptionally well to its new environment. Operations there can now be described as running steadily and efficiently. Batch two will be transferred from the smolt station to the Post-Smolt house in Viðlagafjara in the new year, where it will undergo the same adaptation process.
We can confidently say that land-based salmon farming has officially begun in Vestmannaeyjar.
