The last few weeks outside consultants have done research regarding the ground water source and effluent reciever. Vatnaskil, an Icelandic company specialized in water research, is doing a comprehensive report on the capabilities of the ground sea water layers underneath the site with regards to how much sea water is available and at what temperatures. Akvaplan Niva is also doing work on the ocean currents outside the site to gather understanding of the influence the effluent from the station may have in the future.
